Adopt a Boxer (short coat)

Boxer (short coat) Dog

Mae the Dog needs a home

** Being a senior dog with some medical issues, Mae has a reduced adoption fee. Contact SoCo Rescue for more details**

Mae is a senior Boxer who simply needs a place to "retire". This old girl came to our rescue after her former owners had no other choice but to relocate and couldn't take her or their other dog with them. After having been in her former home for her entire life, we don't think it's fair that she spend the remainder of her life in a shelter.

Mae is people friendly but can be that "cranky, old lady" at times: she'll bark at strangers but does respond to a firm "No" when being corrected. We don't think there's any serious concerns of her being aggressive, she's just doing what any dog should do when a stranger comes near. She adores being petted!

At her former home Mae was house trained and lived as an inside dog with no problems. Because of her age, she does require being let outside more often to relieve herself. Because of this, we think she'll do best in a home where someone is present most of the day such as with a "work from home" adult or a retired/senior person who is looking for a companion.

Mae does require medication for a thyroid issue. We'll gladly provide her adopter with at least a month's worth of these pills, which aren't expensive at all. She's also arthritic and slow moving, having a limp when she walks. Mae has been fully vetted and is heart worm free.

This old girl just needs a home where she can spend her remaining years. If you can open your heart and home to her, please submit an application at socorescue.com
